In the spirit Journey, artist and folklorist Madi Kertonegoro has collected some of the lost legends of Tenganan village in Bali, Indonesia. Inhabited by people called Bali Aga, or original Balinese", Tenganan village has traditions and ceremonies found nowhere else on Bali Island. Richly illustrated with Lontar palm leaf drawings, a traditional art form, the Spirit Journey offers sharp and comic observations of life in present day Bali woven in with old tales of mystery and imagination."
