Indonesia is biologically one of the richest countries in the world. this is due, at least in part, to its great size but is also a result of its complex geological history, its many islands on which endemic species have develop, and the myriad of niches that exist within the diverse and complex vegetation types found there. rnOur knowledge of Indonesia fauna varies enormously depending on whether through filed surveys and collections have been made. Widely collected and popular mammals are wuite well known: a few new species are, however, still being discovered in some remote parts of Archipelago. Samll invertebrates, such as nematofe worms, have attracted attention in some temperate and tropical countries.
